Do you know that your physical body is important to God?  The Bible calls it the temple of the Holy Spirit (see 1 Corinthians 6:19).  Throughout scripture God gives instruction on how you are to worship Him with your body, such as by clapping, dancing, lifting hands, shouting, and singing.  Romans 12:1 says to give your body to God as a living sacrifice.  God is pleased when you use your body to obey the scriptures and honor Him.

It’s displeasing and hurtful to God when we use our bodies for things that are contrary to the Bible.  When we engage in sexual sin, bring physical harm to others, speak words that tear others down, or use our bodies in some other negative way, our Father is dishonored.

I encourage you today to consider how important you are in God’s plan of influencing others for Him.  One of the biggest reasons we are still here on earth is so we can be ambassadors for Christ, living our lives as examples to those that don’t yet know Him.  This doesn’t mean we’ll ever be perfect.  But with a decision on our part and the help of the Holy Spirit, we can use our physical bodies to honor the One who gave His life for us!
