Our world is not known for its graciousness. In general, we’re all usually looking out for ourselves and doing things that will advantage our own lives. But God is different than us…thank God! His primary motive is seeking for our wellbeing. He’s regularly doing everything within His means to help better our lives. This is a quality know as grace.

The definition of grace is, “The freely given, unmerited favor of God.” Due to preconceived and often incorrect ideas about God, many people may not be aware of the amount of grace God directs towards mankind. The truth is: our lives wouldn’t be close to what they are if it wasn’t for His goodness constantly working in our midst.

Ephesians 2:8 tells us, “By grace you have been saved through faith.” The fact that we can receive eternal life is the greatest example of God’s grace at work. Because of our sin we were all headed to hell. There was nothing on our own that we could do about it. In our helpless condition, God decided to send His own Son in our place to pay the penalty for sin that we deserved to pay. I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t be real quick to give up the life of one of my children so someone else could live. Yet that’s exactly what God did. That’s a lot of grace

In Romans 8:32 we’re told: “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” The fact that God gave Jesus to die in our place tells us there’s no limit on what He will do for us. Salvation is the foundation of God’s grace in our lives, and from there it keeps building.

I pray that you’ll allow the grace of God to influence and infiltrate your life as never before. Know that He wants to help you and strengthen you. He’s a good God and He wants to do good things for you. Ask for His help today, and then trust that He hears and is working in your life in a very special way.
